NemaShield® is a fast, effective biological control of fungus gnat larvae and Western Flower Thrips pre-pupae and pupae in the growing medium. A single application of NemaShield, containing the beneficial nematode Steinernema feltiae, is sufficient for preventing fungus gnat outbreaks or control in the beginning phase of an outbreak. Nemashield is valuable tool in Western Flower Thrips control to help disrupt the portion of the life cycle that occurs in the growing medium. This assures that your greenhouse crops have the most vigorous root system possible. It is safe and easy to use on all crops at any growth stage.

NemaShield nematodes actively seek out fungus gnat larvae. They enter the larval body, secrete a bacterium, and kill the larva within a few days. Nematodes then complete their life cycle, producing a new generation of nematodes to attack additional fungus gnat larvae. NemaShield kills only larvae; it does not kill adults, pupae or eggs.

Application: 100 million nematodes will treat 1100 to 3400 square feet Apply using a hydraulic sprayer, injector, boom irrigation, hose-end sprayer or watering can. Remove filters and screens from the sprayer or irrigation system. Continuously agitate the NemaShield solution. Use a coarse spray setting (nozzle opening at least 0.5 mm or 35 mesh). Keep pressures below 300 psi. Apply when soil media temperature is between 55 and 86^o F. Optimum time for application is at dusk to avoid UV injury to NemaShield. Make application to moist soil. Irrigate before application if necessary, however do not irrigate heavily prior to or after application.  See label for additional rates and information.

Storage: Store under refrigeration at an optimum temperature of 41^o F. Do not freeze. Stored properly, NemaShield will keep for 4 weeks after arrival.
